Mari Koizumi learnt oil painting at an art university, then joined Sega and worked in its Consumer Design Development Department (セガ・デザイン設計部) in the early 90s. She was the only illustrator in that department in charge of packaging and illustrations. Thus, if you look at the Sega TV Game Genga Gallery artbook, you'll see that all the illustrations attributed to this department were drawn by her.
